Hello!

Just a quick question! Has anyone moved their wiper motor behind the bulkhead? If so, do you have any pictures? I've Just painted the bulkhead so if it involves more than drilling a hole or 2 I'm not that keen as this is a bit of an after-thought. I'm just trying to declutter my engine bay.

Cheers!

As Dave said.

Can be a pain to thread it through. Took a bit of work on mine and I had to shorten it.

how did you guys fasten it to the inside of the bulkhead? Did you have to disconnect the motor from the wiper 'rod' bit or will it go through as a complete assembly?

Take it apart, just slides off.

The opposite of how it is fitted now, but nut n bolt instead.

Just remembered its easier to leave the inner wire and the first tube in the motor, thread it through from inside and then put all the other bits on.

Its pretty self explanatory though when you have all the bits in front of you.

while this is at it. i have a question about this to. i have a engine bay heater motor but now realize that the hole where the air tube goes trough sits where the wiper motor sits. ( aprox) could the whole system cope with a 30 degree extra bent so the motor lays down more? or would the inner cable brake to fast?

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

I can't see why not, mine has quite a tight bend in it.

Yes eum... snail type? The heater is in the car but the motor to blow the air trough it sits in the engine bay.

Yup. Problem is that the tube going trough the bulkhead goes trough it on the right hand side. .. and that is the same location as where the wiper motor sits on lefthand drive cars. But if i can bend the engine some more awayit should be solved.

I once saw a mini at Hudds Mini spares, and the motor was down right in the bottom of the passenger footwell? Fook knows how they had managed that.
