Hi guys

just wanting to know what kind of valve spring bench you guys use to dismantle your heads. Thinking of building my own because i dont want to spend heaps on buying one. Also would be doing other heads like multi valves as well. Pics would great as well. Thanks in advance for your help. Rob

I just welded a piece of tube with 2 slots in to a clamp. Tube on top site and screw it close.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I use a lambda sensor socket as you can get a magnet in the side.

to re assemble I use one of those tools you just push down on and it clips the collets in.

for aquard heads I use a valve spring compressor thats lieka big G clamp. Got to be ohnest, I run a garage these days, and dont feel the need to build a proper bench top setup. but if i were inclined it would involve two wood bases which were "V" shaped so the head can be tiled to any angle, and a simple long lever with a part dropping down to act on the valve spring retainer which can obviously be moved.

Trego VFP 50. Admittedly, it's not mine, but it certainly takes all the pain out of disassembly/ reassembly of a 16v head!

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
