not engageing gear? please help

Hey you guys... my friend has a mini and its got us all a little stumped? But i know for a fact with fresh brains especially TM brains it should hopefully be resolved (and by sun 31st too as were booked in for the track time at snetterton at the retro show)

I could try explain it but ill just paste what hes said to me, cheers and thanks in advance!

Its a (pre verto clutch) got lightened pre-verto flywheel orange pressure plate metro turbo center plate. The problem started when i could hear the thrust bearing whirring away when clutch was pressed and it got harder and harder 2 get it into first and reverse. So changed thrust bearing and noise went but then could only get 3rd gear. So thought master cylinder must b on way out so changed that plus slave and clutch arm both pins pushrod and plunger as they all had some wear. Adjusted as per benross way which is depress clutch and adjust throw out nut with 1.5mm of clearance and adjust small stop nut with spring removed at .5mm clearance. Ive also tried putting thread on end of pushrod and put nut on but still no joy.

Can any gears be selected when the engine isn't running? Is the clutch fully working now and disengaging the box, or is it grinding into 3rd also?

Yes all gears can be selected when not running, will find out about 3rd = no apparently now after all the new bits he cant select none when running

My friend and i would like to thank everyone for there help and suggestions... he told me tonight that he had cured it! After replacing the noisy thrust n worn out master n slave, apparently the pin to the pedal was just catching the housing enough not give full travel!? 'Doh'! But an easy fix and atleast he'll be joining me out on snettertons track this sunday
