Hi I've got a classic mini that I intend on restoring, the body of the mini is in good condition no rust or dents but there loads of grinding marks where the previous owner removed all the paint. Any ideas on how to get rid of them . Possible something like a high build primer or body putty ? Any advice would be appreciated. |

Depends how deep they are, you will get away with a high build primer if they are only light scratches |

High build primer, thin dusting of a dark colour paint as a guide and then block sand the whole car. This will then show up the low spots. The high build will usually sort the minor scuffs, but a quick skim of filler sanded back before you apply any paint wouldn't go amiss in areas you know the scuffs are a bit deeper. Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

If any scratches are too deep for high build primer, use body filler thinned down with acetone. |
