ok still a bit confused the higher the turbine a/r the higher up the rev range the turbo will kick in right? or is it in relation to the compressor trim? the reason i ask is that the t2 suffers from less lag/inertia yet the turbine ar is bigger, i read dave's post a while back and remember him saying its mainly due to the lower inertia of the t2 family turbo shaft but am still confused can someone correct me before i buy some piece of crap! *tired*

yep the higher the a/r, the further up the rev range the turbo will spool up

the trim will affect the spool up but it gives an idea of the wheel size

if you were to compare the size of a t3 shaft assy and t2 assy you would soon see why the higher a/r doesn't cripple the t2

the t3 wheels are much much larger than the t2

been looking at a t25 with a .64 this should be ok right and spool up a little faster? is it right that you cant get uprated parts for t2's, whats a stage 2 r5 turbo then, sorry i actually want to know, not being funny *happy*

think sumpnut is using .64 on his t25

ask him to see what he thinks,

i've got a t25 with a .49 to try hopefully in the new year so couldn't comment on how good it will be

erm, i am not entirely sure what my ar is.

My turbocharger was removed from a 200sx. I dont know what year or engine size.

It will either be .49 or .64 according to this website http://www.nissansilvia.co.nz/faq.htm#1
, but which i do not know as i dont know if i have a t25g or just a t25

What ever it is, it spools up very quick. I prefure it to my old metty t3, personally wouldnt go back.

If it spools up quick - it isn't going to be a 0.64 guaranteed...

0.49 it is then, although i suppose it depends exactly how you define quick.

It probably is an awful lot slower than the R5 T2 turbos, but im certain its more reactive than my old T3

going by that link do the t25's have t3 shafts as surely this would defeat the point for example "Compressor - 45 trim T3 wheel with 0.48 A/R T25 diffuser Turbine - 1.77" wheel (62 trim), 0.49 A/R T25 housing" what difference does the trim make in relation to the ar?
*tired*

on the T25 i've got in the garage i can assure that the compressor is nothing like the compressor wheel of the T3, neither is the turbine wheel

the rover T25 with the .49 turbine hsg a/r is exactly what many r5 tuners sell as a stage 3 turbo, whether this will work on an a-series who know (well hopefully i will in the next few months..)
