The block thread should be 1/8 NPT, as should the threads on the T piece.

The adaptor for the oil gauge can screw into the block nicely, indicating that both threads are 1/8npt. The adaptor can also screw into the female threads of the t piece. The male thread on the t piece appears to be tapered though?! 100% BMW Free |

It sounds like the threads on the T-Piece are damaged or were not machined correctly. The T-piece should be a tapered thread, which is why it doesn't require copper washers to seal. Your other unions and adapters should also be tapered.

1.5 turns and stopping sounds like the male thread is 1/8 BSP rather than the required NPT. |

Thanks for the reply's guys. Turns out I've been a bit of a moron! Somehow I managed to fit the t piece incorrectly years ago, and amazingly avoided any leaks!!!
