Northamptonshire.

Evening lads got a few questions to ask

1. How much do I need to skim off the block to get pistons flush?

2. I have a 12g295 head wanting to get 33/29 valves put in in, will this be over skill on 10psi boost supercharged?

3. Still not sure on a cam shaft options?

Thanks Stephen

1. Do a dummy build an measure
2. Ask turbo Phil
3. There are lots people like the 274, mg metro or re13t

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Dont ruin a good 295 head, just use a 940

I'd echo the above comments, the only way to find out how your deck height is to measure it, though make sure you do your compression ratio calcs before you do it so you know you can get enough out of the head to compensate.

Going 12G940 is probably a good shout, though means more modification to the block.

Cam wise it depends what you'll use the car for, either get a mid-torque cam if you drive it around town regularly or use something more cammy if you want it more revvy for spirited driving.

Phil did me a 295 and a 940 and the 940 has produced more power, plus you can run 11 studs

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Thing that worry be using the 940 is the rings getting hot as the pocket is right in that area

Might be over thinking this abit

Piston rings? Or fire rings?

I would stick with the 295 as you already have it, it also has 28cc chambers for what you need. You will need to do a lot of work on a 940 to get the CR down. Plus I agree with the concern of valve pockets etc.

I don't think that you need to go as far as 29mm exhausts, 27mm will do.

MD274 all the way.
