Hi just took the mini out for a spin to check for this weekend at pod..

Oil pressure is fine when first started- 5 to 6 bar, its up there when at faster speeds, at 3 to 4 bar cruising but what grabbed my attention is when coming to a stop it dropped down to 2 bar and once i looked and it even dropped to below 2 bar, like sometimes 1.5 *oh well* its never been that low? ? ?

Probably the heat, hot oil thins out. As long as it doesn't drop any lower than say 25psi at idle you'll be okay.

as carls says he is spot on i have seen oil pressure 10 psi ish HOT and the engines great*smiley*

Its only been this low since the oil got hot at snetterton...

Its only ever had millers ctv..

And im glad u think its fine carl and benross... does low pressure at idle not cause any damage?

I then realised that its idle itself was lower than normal??? Dunno how? but increased the rpm to a 1000 and it sat at 2 bar.. (30ish psi?) So thats better right??

On a good note FECK it feels so much quicker now its not so fat *happy*

On the idle rpm note... i been told on non standard cams you want a 1100rpm minimum??
