For my latest upgrade, I'm increasing my wheel width, but staying on 10" wheels. I previously had a set of 10x5 revolutions and have a set of 10x6 wellers to exchange for them. However, I've fitted the wellers in preparation for fitting the wider arches and noticed that the wheel base is notably wider at the front than the rear.

I measured this, and found the wheels to be 150.5cm at the rear and 158.25 a the front (at the wheel centres). Quite a difference! I don't recall ever seeing this with the revolutions. I guess the wellers have exacerbated this.

Is this normal? To make up the difference would mean spacers of 1.5" on the rear (I don't think they are even available above 1"). Suspension was previously professionally set-up (on the revolutions) although I don't remember this measurement being taken. We did do the tracking though, front and rear, using the "string round the four wheels" method, and this difference was not obvious then.

I don't have spacers on the front. I have mini spares vented discs and with matching flanges.

Okay - sorry. Stupid newbie question! I now realise that this is totally normal (although perhaps closer to 2" rather than 3"). *blush*

Its called 'track width' too for future reference. Wheelbase is the distance between the front and rear axles :)

Urgh. I know! I'm going to blame Sunday morning toddler induced sleepiness....
