Hey All,

Just working on getting my turbo mocked up on the engine and noticed that the cold side is in contact with the block when everything is tightened up. Is this an issue? Doesn't see, like a lot of contact but definitely no gap.
Gt1548, 998 block, mirage manifold
Thanks!

Relieve the block slightly for clearance.

Roger that!. Relieved the block and the turbo housing a bit and there is just barely a gap now. Makes me pretty confident I won't need a bulkhead box!

Yeah just take a bit out,
Only pretty confident? I thought the whole purpose of the mirage was to squeeze a small turbo down the back with no bulkhead box

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

A 1275 "dogbone" ( we call it like that) to puch the 998 more forward could maybe help to?

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

Have you sorted what your doing for the oil drain yet?

Well I haven't had a chance to trial fit the turbo with engine yet in the body but I don't see why it wont go.
Good call on the dog bone, once i get the engine in, I'll see if it's needed.
As far as the oil drain, I've got a blanking cover for the fuel pump with a hose end welded on. Haven't sorted the connector tube yet.
Also, off topic but hopefully quick: are people using gaskets on the turbo flanges? I see no mention of them anywhere
