It appears the vomitorium has survived it's last outing and wasn't subjected to another attack.

Best nights sleep I've had in ages. Dunno if it was the new bed, the new sleeping bag or the fact I drank myself unconscious.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Only barely, that Twister last night was an excellent centrafuge/ blender!

I had a good weekend overall except a broken driveshaft on my first attempt on the strip.

Thanks everyone for your help on sorting it! Really appreciate it. Look forward to next year. I think a trailer will be a wise idea next time!

Well I had a long weekend and but happy with the results.

I had intended to run it on low boost for a few runs and get used to the car first but that went out the window after the 1st run of 16.55 on 7psi. Having no idea how much I'd wound it up, I went for the 2nd run which is bogged down on at the start and ended with a 15.8 on approx. 15psi.

3rd run went a little better but still struggled to get off the line properly; I popped an intercooler hose in 4th and ended with a 16.08.

I must have had 5 or 6 runs where I kept popping the same hose off at various stages of the run. Ended up with new clamps from the POD shop which held for a couple of runs.

Now I received some great guidance and advice from Carl and Tom regarding the starts and the rest was a general 'kick the hole out of it' sort of theme!

So the best run came straight after; held it on the line until the boost was up and then went for it; wheelspun in all gear changes and ended up not sure whether to hold it in 3rd or 4th over the line; over the line on 3rd gave me a ne 'PB' of 14.64. As I went over the line, I had no idea of the time but I was delighted at the actual run - gave a Bini GP a good run as well.

next run went equally well but I got really bad torque steer going into 2nd and backed off before going on for a 15.7 finish.

Last run, it was suggested to warm the tyres up a bit more and I popped the hose off again on burnout. Decided to call it a day at that point.

So the car drove onto the trailer and off again this morning. I've got to sort a couple of things but I'm generally happy with the results given its by no means a lightweight car

We broke into the 17s on 10psi which I am absolutely chuffed with! The car ran really well until about two when it was really warm and he was getting a bit warm so we didn't get as many runs in as we could have but I'm glad everyone got some good ones in apart from Jonny! So unlucky for your first go! Luckily the only thing that broke on mine was my 12v socket

Was it not you on the M6, I think, at the side of the road, not far from Santa Pod? :/ What was with all the mk3 astra estates? I noticed at least 3.

Nah, we stopped on the M1 because the bottom hose blew off our mates rover 114(metro) though.

Haha got to be the only person still running steelies.. For now but yeah I was under the tro with my tiny child hands getting the bottom hose back on!

Nice wheels IMO. I did have a good look at a green mini turbo, Bronkomini's car? Not the clubman on show. I need to attend more mini shows, and take a look at 998's. :- I was looking at carb rebuild kits at MITP, but I believe that the turbo kit is slightly different. The fella on the stall said the kit is exactly the same for N/A and turbo application. The only turbo part for sale at the autojumble was a plenum chamber @ £75, but I don't need that anyhoo.
