ive wired my boost gauge off this carb spacer but it doesnt give me any readings

im going to add another takeoff like the others i have

my questions is do i need to have the spacer fitted or can i just remove it?

No reading at all ??? You need to work out why you're not seeing boost from take off in the spacer - I can't see any reason why that won't give you a reading, or for that matter, why placing the take-off 3cm away will make any difference.

At least on NA engines the spacer is preferred as the slightly longer inlet tract could give a bit more torque low down. Better to block it off the pipe or even replace with a thicker one. If you really feel the need to remove it, make sure the butterfly can open fully without catching on the manifold casting.

It is a bit odd that you get no reading.

But you'll need the spacer of the throttle cam will hit the inlet. Even with the spacer mine hit.

yeah ive tried blowing through and it is quite difficult,

they way i had wired up was the from the carb spacer take off to the boost gauge with the vaccum side of the DV t'd into it :/

Just tee into one of the other take offs. You don't need a seperate take off for every single use.
