Hi, I have just joined TurboMinis and was hoping someone could help me out? I love my classic minis but I am not very practical when things go wrong. My latest project is a 1989 Mini Mayfair 998cc which was running fine when I left it 4 weeks ago. It now refuses to run smoothly and has little or no power. The revs are all over the place and it will only run when the choke is mid way out. If I pull the choke right out the revs increase, but the revs also increase when the choke is pushed right in. I have stripped, cleaned and reassembled the carb, it has new plugs and a new coil and all of the sparks are there. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Was gonna suggest the same as brett, I once stored mine. Couldn't get it to start, threw in some new fuel and ran straight away after that.
