I bought some of these and have had them fitted to the mk2 for a couple of months now. Recently I have been struggling to line up the drivers door as it keeps dropping off towards the rear, so tonight I took the hinges off and noticed quite a lot of play in them. Got a couple of videos

Anyone come across this before?

Cheers

The play you've tested for is not a problem... You need to check for play by pulling the two halves apart (top hinge) and pushing them together (bottom hinge) as this is how they're loaded when in place

I'd expect them to bed in for short while after which you'll need to reset them. Make sure they're greased and when you rehang the door don't mix up the top and bottom hinges otherwise they'll need to bed in again.
