so, im having another go at getting this running properly. a 12 month time out is about enough. i've now got the mini running ok as long as its not on boost.........

just wanna list a few things here to see if im being a bell end and its something obvious.

got a steady 3-5psi fuel pressure during idle and revving but havent checked it during a run.
vent valve in the plenum is blocked off and ive made a modded pipe mounting plate.
running a canems ignition ecu but the rev limiter is set to off

plumbed in the system as shown below in the image

its a gt1549 turbo. ditched the original actuator and fitted a std metro turbo one. i checked it as i fitted it.

im getting plug #1 dying quite a lot through overfuel. the others are quite sooty. could it be that the needle isnt right and once on boost its choking out the spark??

bleed valve position doesnt make any difference.

dump valve is working ok.

plenum to carb gasket is on the correct way.

rebuilt the turbo carb using a genuine SU kit.

anyone got any ideas? cheers

balls to the blower!!!

whats the wide band say?
can you get it on boost?

What does it do on boost?
Does it stutter?
Or no power and a woosh sound?

also why are you running a T piece in the fuel line to the carb?

Thats why its not running right the pressures should be different from the plenum to the carb

top of the pressure reg to the plenum
bottom one which is fuel feed to the carb
post back with results *hehe!*

the bit you t'd off on the carb is the float chamber vent which originally iirc went to the ECU so should be blocked off

T piece is to ensure the float chamber is pressurised, as done by loads of folk on here for years so that is not an issue.

I agree with above, get a wideband on there so you can see what is actually happening.

cheers lads. will get a wide band ordered and see what its saying. it basically drives fine, until it comes onto boost then its like hitting a limiter and it kills the power. plugs are almost new and gapped ok.

wanted to just check i wasnt being a dick and something blatantly obvious was the issue. will report back once i have one

if its fine off boost until boost starts building and it just goes flat no power then it sounds like a lack of fuel to me
two things i can think of is the reg not raising pressure with boost or the bowl not seeing boost pressure
