Since I rebuilt the engine it's done about 2k but in my ignorance I didn't renew the the primary gear bearings. Not sure how many mile the engine had done previously.

yeah oil can pass between the crank and bushings in the gear if its got to much clearance or if theirs to much crank case pressure/blow by

I have got a couple of breathers in the engine so I'm not sure pressure is the cause.

Yeah I know in and ideal world that's what I'd do but the cranks not coming out of the engine this year touch wood.

not had any experience with replacing the bushings in a primary gear perhaps someone who has replaced them can help

took some pics as ive got my engine apart anyway it might be of some help?
