Ok if you have got this far read on and stick in an answer....

I'll give you a spec of an A series *NON* turbo engine, post what BHP you would expect it to produce at the flywheel.

Spec....

1293cc
Lightly ported head, 36/29 valves
Kent 276MD cam
1.5 roller rockers
Maniflow LCB
Maniflow exhaust
MG Metro inlet manifold
K&N cone filter
CR unknown but lets say 10.5 to 1..

Place your bids........

Jon.

You are asking this because either you have one with amazing power or very dissapointing power. I always think there are so many engines out there producing much less than they are capable of, so I am going to go for a rather hight figure....

110bhp.

Im going to go with 105-115.

MG metro engines make an easy 75ish, with the head, rockers, cam and induction i dont see why it wont be quite a bit higher

Great stuff.....

So my idea was to get an idea of what power that engine should produce....

I would expect around 95/100bhp to be honest but i will discount my figure...

SO.....9 inputs, the 80 to 85 figures etc i have split to 82.5 etc.

So my calculations it adds up to 862.5BHP combined....

An average of 95.83 bhp....about right in my eyes...

The reason for this post?

I was at Peter Baldwins rolling road yesterday and a car with that spec was on the rollers before mine...

It produced 96BHP!

Interesting IMO!
