Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

Idler gear thrusts washers!

The question is what are they made of, as it?s a while since I stripped down a unit.

I have access to all types of material to machine,

Is there any recommendations which has proved more successfully than the original material

There are some worth while mods pressure fed etc etc,?????
But i don?t want to go into these at the moment just need it up and running relatively reliable for now! :wink

While the other project is afoot.*wink*

Fitting SC drops & minispares diff.

They are I believe hardened steel......not an ideal material to butt up against aluminium alloy, especially when using helical gears due to the side loading.

But with straight cut drops, the load on these thrust washers is nowhere near as much and so the standard thrusts are OK.

But be warned they are VERY expensive to buy, so mix and match a few out of other engines if you can to get the right clearance, they are in the order of £30 each!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depends on which sizes you need bud, the larger ones are more money, despite the fact they are only thousands of an inch larger.

I sourced the one I had to buy from Minispares, £26+VAT........D'oh........

it all depends hoggy on whether or not its the earlier type or the later, because the later type was ?Sloped? together with silicon, the tolerances were different

iam of the old school with the gaskets

sound advice buddy.

Gasket Sizes.

MiniSpares 22A2237B = 0.032"
Minits From their bottom end set = 0.029"
Cheap one from a show = 0.040"
