While we're on this topic, I have a GT17 I was planning to use, the ex A/R is 0.43 the intake 0.53. how suitable would this be?

your turbo with 0.49 a/r is a T25, it's a liitle large for your 1275 , i would prefer a T2 turbine, don't worry about bosst ,it will make , but a t2 will do the job a lot better;
abot the gt17, it is perfect

I have a T25 from TurboTechnics, and the compressor side says A/R .43, I've been using this on my 1275 and it does the job just fine.
