Seeing that 12g295 are getting harder to find in good condition and costing as much as they weight in gold if you do find one, are there any disadvantages going for a 12g940? Or it is just not a good idea?

I'm building a 998 with a gt1544, phase 2 cam.

should be good chris , but if using the 940 head and that turbo i would use a softer cam , a mg metro of kent/piper 260 .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

Yeh, its a bit of a trade off really. The valves are bigger in the 940 but are shrouded by the bore/pocket a bit more. Definitely a good budget option tho.

As above, keep the valves a sensible size. 33in 29ex is all you need.

Thanks for the advice Robert, i have been hunting for a MG metro cam, but like with the heads they seem to be hard to find. I'll look at the 260 option though.

im running a 12g940 on my 998 for 2 years now. no problems so far. do run a metro cam in it.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

Swansea boyo!

I've got a 295 on mine, took me months to find a good unskimmed one. Really hope I never end up doing any damage to it!

I have run both, the 940 has made more power

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
