Hey all

My clutch is slipping and I wondered what clutch or clutch kit I should go for?

The engine is a 90's 1275, verto.

I did the clutch with a full kit in 2012, probably 500 miles ago. I suspect it's the same problem now as it was then - the crank seal due to lack of use.

So, with that in mind, can I change just the clutch itself, and if so, with what plate?

Is there a good crank seal, or are they all the same?

Ta!

If its oil contamination, i'd change the plate for a turbo one

If you're not using it much, stick a paddle plate in.

With my verto all the standard plates slipped after a while. The paddle plate stuck firm. Use the Minispares one it's nice and progressive.

What's the benefit of a paddle over a normal plate? I know nothing about clutches.

Oh, I thought you had a turbo.

In which case the standard 180mm plate should be fine.

You could try the MS uprated 'turbo' verto spring.

what quality was the original replacement clutch kit? some of the cheaper ones had poor spring quality from my experience.

I can't remember and can't find an invoice for it.. might have just been a local motor factors clutch kit.

In which case that might be the problem. I had one from a local place once and the spring was hopeless. Ok for granny in her 998, but beyond that shit.
