Hi, I've got a Mini with a standard Metro turbo engine which is in need of a rebuild.

Without getting carried away, what are the most cost-effective essentials for an increase in performance and reliability?

New cam, massaged cylinder head, pistons?

I just want it to be a faster than 94hp daily/weekend driver.

Thanks

intercooler, and drop the compression a bit to make room for more boost.

9.3:1 standard, drop it to say 8.5 and you'll be able to stick a bar up it no problems. while your getting the chambers hogged out, you may as well get the head flowed a bit...

cam will help, MG metro NA cam is good,

std turbo pistons are fine, if not work, otherwise, some decent cast ones will be fine ( omega)
