Is it true that shakespeare vounty raceway is closing down?

I read it will close after the 2016 season. |

A shame - Much better than the Pod in many ways (except the track which was sort of the point). Oh well. I'm sure there will be lots of unafordable housing built on the site and it will give the locals something differant to moan about! |

Its weird to think that when i look at my avatar pic of me n the mrs at showdown which was taken by matt woods n is also blown up on a canvas in my living room! Might actually be where someones living room will be!!??

More like a developer offered them a silly amount of money. Judging by how run-down it had got, it wasn't making any money.

Count me in. Shakey is my 'home' track and I will mourn it's passing. The Pod will entail setting up to flat tow the car there rather than driving it. 'Where does the engine go?' |

agreed; no matter how much of a passion it would have been for someone to run the place, business is business and probably a nice retirement fund coming from it
