Your dash from minisport.. did you extend it to sit in front of your cage?

Cheers fellas, its starting to come together nicely now.

Yes Dave, one of the minisport ones, I trimmed it in a black suede so when I was covering it in the thin foam that's underneath I added 50mm to the top edge. it just sits on to of what would have been the old dash rail.

Its what im looking for as ive hidden alot of things that were engine bay side of the bulkhead to dash side.. but dont want anything heavy or modern looking.. i like that it literally is a mould of the top n bottom dash rail (of which the lower isnt present anymore on mine) so minimalistic... u said its light... can you guess how much roughly? And is the quality worth the 150 quid theyre charging?

I personally haven't put it on the scales, what I can tell you that wont be a surprise is it is lighter than a standard dash arrangement, at a guess I would say similar to a fg bonnet a guess.

Quality wise it was probably the best fg a part I have ever bought, price wise it is steep regardless of how good it is IMO.

Thought id thow up some recent progress shots.

Ordered some AR-1

Got my shell home from the painter, and at long last got my engine fitted

Another step closer, pushing hard now to have her running for summer and the rollhard show in August.

Cheers for looking

Surprisingly after some thinner engine mounts I got the engine to sit a bit lower in the frame, with the sub frame mounted miglia style the fg bonnet closes with mm to spare.

Lowestoft, Suffolk.

The rocker cover Jayme has used is also the lowest of the 16v ones I’ve had/seen.
The K100 I’ve got is lower still and gave no clearance issues.
Pic’s for reference

So its been a while since my last post, I have made progress but at the same time im still waiting on my painter to finish my arches. At this stage im fed up to the max with that area of the build.

In the mean time ive been working away at finer details, firstly I had a flange water jet cut for my itbs, welded that on to the trumpets and had all ceramic coated.

with the tb's in place I measured up for a custom rad. I had tried a fiat cinq one but i couldnt get it to fit nicely

Made up some mounts and attached them with some rivnuts in the frame.

Grill back on

Got my mk1 style windows in, need to get some door cards made next, Im thinking alloy with a bead rolled pattern, maybe some trimmed panels in them also.

Bonnet on to check clearance

And lastly I made a start on the cooling pipes and tank.

Really pleased with how its turning out, dont think its bad for a first full build.

Cheers for looking
