Gents,
I'm after some needle advice for a mates car.
It's a NA 1293cc engine, MG metro head, 286 cam and twin HS6s

I already told him best thing's probably to ditch the HS6s and downsize but this is what is in..

I don't know what needles are in now but it's a pig to start (over fueling I am pretty sure) and fumes make you sick driving behind it.

I was hoping for a good starting point before we get it on the rollers.

Thanks,
Han

has it got a wide band?
do the plugs look nasty? or nice light brown?
what needles are in there currently?

if we know the needles that are in there we could suggest a leaner one from the SU handbook that has all the needles listed

http://sucarb.co.uk/catalogues-manuals-boo...file-chart.html

also a good visual on the change from needle to needle

http://www.mintylamb.co.uk/suneedle/

i have the book and its grate lists the needles and also explains in the front few pages how much the mesuments need to change to give an aprox change in afr

im yet to get mine down the road and make some boost to refine the needle but i was able to pick a needle from the book that seems about right and that was changing from unleaded to E85 where the volume of fuel is far more

Thx for the reply
No it doesn't have a wide band.
I haven't had a proper look at it (hardly time to do something on my own mini).
Hence sending him to rollers.

Was hoping someone on here has had simular set-up and could advice for good starting point.
