What does everyone use for downpipes on a GT17 build?

Is a Saab downpipe any good as a base, or do you buy a GT17 flange and just DIY?

1994 Mini Mayfair, 1330, Mspd Ph2 cam, Benross turbo head, 9:1, GT1752, TT Intercooler, MegaJolt, BMW M3 leather seats.

got mine from matty and his manifold.fit straight onto 2"mini play exhaust too

Down pipes are not difficult to do if you can weld at home.

Cool OK, is the Saab downpipe any use, or just get the flange and 90 degree and DIY ?

We used a Saab dp with an extra bend in it. Fitted well.

Thanks, which Saab downpipe do you start with?

I found the 9-5 1999 onwards uses GT1752 - is that the best one to start with?

I bought a 2 1/4" pipe with a flared end

You need to check the bolt spacing.

Just needs a tight 90 deg bend etc after that. sorted
