Hi Guys,

not sure what cam shaft to go with on my 1293 supercharger build. Was thing along the lines of a Swiftune SW05-7 Cam but was wondering if there is a better of the shelf or custom option.
The car is being completely restored from the ground up as its not my daily drive there is no time frame I just want an awesome mini. I brought a machined block and have uprated the pistons. The spec of the engine will be:
1293 Block
18cc 0.20"+ omega pistons
HIF44 Carb
Podifold Supercharger manifold
With the plan of
1:5 roller rocker
Straight cut gears with diff
Eaton M45
The head is going to be a Benross Racing head.

Hopefully trying to achieve around the 115 - 130 bhp ball park. If I could break the 150 mark that would be awesome.

Any help would be gracefully welcomed.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to TM.
I got a cam from Stuart Gurr, vmaxscart.
There was a choice between 2 cams; one to get through emissions and one non-emissions version.
(I got the non-emissions one; IIRC 273cam)

(I think 1:1.5 rocker will be pushing it a bit to far)

Is your installation a suck throu or blow thru?

If suck through 130bananas is about the max with an M45. 150 is only available on some rolling roads:)

As for cam, I've always thought that the Kent 276 is a good SC cam.

I've got the Stewart Gurr 273 cam in my suck through super charged mini. Drives well, no emission issues, but not been on the rollers yet.

I'm not sure there is much data on the blow through installations, what does podfold say has worked well in the past for your config?

Suck through sc setups seem to like a cam with a wide LCA.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
VEMS + 12 PSI + Liquid Intercooler = Small Bore FUN!

For reference the 273 cam has a 112 LCA
