Hi guys,

After an absence of 2 years I'm back. *smiley* During this period I traveled with family all over the world for my work. During my travels, I took my turbo parts, incl 2 engines with me. But now we are settled again.

We are living now in the Philippines. There is a small, but very active Mini community here. Most of the Mini's are from Japan, imported as car parts. It is not allowed to import right hand drive cars in the Philippines, so the cut the shell in half, and import them as car parts. After that they weld everything together again.

At the moment we are building our house, when that is finished, I will buy a Mini again, and start my turbo adventure.

Welcome back... cutting minis in half to get them in is scary BUT i suppose i would too if it was the only way *smiley*

Just before I left in 2012 I bought a MG Metro Turbo for 900 Euro. The car was completely rotten with a non original interior. But the engine was running nice.

So, took out the engine with some other parts and put it in a box and took it with me.

Later I found out that the engine was rebuild, 1310cc, turbo looks pretty new, as well you could still see the hone marks in the bores. The car wasnt driven since 2004!!

Pretty good buy I guess *happy*
