I'm planning on taking the plunge and investing in some nice split 10's, but to see how the car behaves first it is currently on some borrowed mb splits with 3.5 inch wide inners and 3.5 outers which suit the car well, so thinking this would be a good combination.

The car should be getting turbo'd before to long, with torque predicted to be around 150lb/ft. When ordering I would like to ensure I get the inner and outer rim combinations right to minimise the turbo mini tendancy to project you into whaterver your overtaking, or the hedge.

Those of you running big torque through split 10's what rim combinations are you successfully running resulting in minimal torque steer?

Obviously a proper suspension set up is on the cards too.

Thanks

James

Maybe just get your car corner weighted and the suspension setup for the wheels etc...

basically set every thing up and run the smallest offset you can.

Mine are not an ideal offset and 7" wide. They've been fine.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

What width inners and outers are you running out of interest?

Once i got mine to track straight corner weights made the biggest improvement on torque steer
Pretty much eliminating it tbh, unless it spun a wheel lol

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

Your right to consider this. Its basically down to king pin inclination. (Look it up if you dont know)

Depends if you are using mini or metro geometry hubs as they are different. I believe the metro ones suite more offset.

On my Metro i run 4inch inners and 3 inch outers. Much closer to the stock offset than 3.5/3.5. Cant see why it wouldn't work well on a mini too.

I have 6 3/4 and quite enjoyed the torque steer, you never feel more alive than when you feel like you might crash.

...also be sure the pre tension on the differential bearings is set properly with the right amount of shim thickness.

Running an ATB, with about 1 thou preload. pretty sure they just need enough to nip the diff bearing up.
