I just took the small aluminium plate off the engine that had originally been in the car so the number remained the same (both were 1275 engines as I had changed from 998 to 1275 decades ago back when DVLA were less fussy).
Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

I can't see it being an issue in this case unless the same number shows up against two different registrations. I don't imagine the DVLA would check this. I had the same engine number on my Jet Black and Clubby Estate for a long time before I realised. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of. |

Mine is a late bloke with the number engraved so the skim removed all traces. Stamp it up with whatever you want, but i dont like the idea of using a number from an engine you don't own, leaving yourself open to VOSA's pedantry, not that its likely to happen, but im happen that it wont ever be a problem. I like John's suggestion lol. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:
