Hi guys,

I bought a set of revs with tyres from a member on here a last year.
Finally got around to getting them nicely refurbished to my desired finish. The wheel place phoned me and said the wheels were ready to be picked up but they could not refit the tyres as they are so tight.
I went down and it turned out two of the tyres were damaged from where they had taken them off. Moving on I then spoke to my small business tyre fitter. He said he could get them on and would order two new tyres. He tried to get one of the tyres on and gave up. He said they won't go on!

Having just spent the money of the refurbishment of these wheels it's dorned on me that the wheels are at fault.

Has any one else had any issues like this, is there a bigger tyre to use? I spoke to one of the mini specialists and they confirmed the tyres i have are for the wheels and also questioned the wheels!

Take them to somebody familiar with fitting low profile tyres, there shouldn't be a problem at all.

depends where the beads are, could be reverse mounted, so the faces of the wheel point downwards when fitting the tyres.

i fitted my tyres to my superlites myself, and they were stupidly tight, loads of tyre soap and they popped on eventually though

Sounds like ya tyre fitters only like the norm... maybe try the reverse mounted option, any mates with minis local? Ask who they go to

Picture might help. Sometimes tyre fitting can be a bitch but tyres fitters are 'somtimes' not the brightest sparks so often it can be done with a bit of adjustment to the machine

Sounds like the fitter personally, larger sizes available are 175/60, 185/60, 195/50 yokohama do both the first two, 185/60 on a mini and 175/50 maybe a little tight as they have tall sidewalls, 195/50 should be fine (dmack wrc track/road tyre)

Just seems strange two places are struggling with them. I'd of thought the alloy wheel place would be used to low profile tyres with the bmw's etc.
Really don't want the wheels to be damaged in the process.

Northamptonshire.

Flip em.

If they are cheap reps tyres are hard to get on them I use to use loads of tyre soap and really force the tyre down but use to go on after bit of fighting but this was a 12" set of revos i did it on.
