I just stated to fit a megajolt over the weekend, what crankshaft damper is fitted as standard metro turbo, the VR unit is at the end of its mounting bracket & has no adjustment and is only just, it seems to me that a thinner damper is require to allow the VR sensor to be in the centre of the trigger wheel. I don't really want to got eh the expense of a MED damper any other OE ones that will fit.

As Brett says, space the bracket out a little On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Thanks , the damper is the OE part that was fitted to the Metro Turbo & the VR bracket is the one that came with the kit, which with the spacer fits the timing cover well. If add further spacers/washers to move it out then the electrical connection looks like it will clash with the subframe !, I'll take picture and maybe somebody can tell if its the correct damper. It has TAM 1241 stamped on the inside face.

More to the point, what trigger kit are you using? On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

Yes, the crank sensor boot touches the subframe, presuming this is a trigger wheels kit, hasn't caused a problem but try and rotate it as much away as you can. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

I have a metro one here and yes, it's a bit wider than the mini ones.

Ok thanks, I'll shim out the VR sensor until it has full coverage of the trigger wheel, & see how much of a clash there is with the wiring & the sub frame and go from there. |

I had the same issue, took a hole saw to the subframe where the clash was |
