I've been having issues for a while with my brakes sticking on after a bit of use. Basically, the pedal doesn't fully return allowing the pressure to build up in the system to the point where the brakes obviously start binding. If I lift the pedal up with my foot, there is an obvious notch or click feeling suggesting something is holding it back but, having looked at it, there is nothing obvious (checked the assembly for clashing of the split pins etc).

The brakes are effectively late model servo with Minisport calliper. Its only obvious once the car has warmed up as well. The return spring on the pedal box behind the servo is fitted.

In all other respects the brakes appear to perform OK.

My thoughts are that its possibly an internal fault with the servo or master cylinder. Anyone got any other thoughts?

If theres adjustment i would retract the brake rod from the servo a tiny bit, the servo to master coupling should be fairly stable.

The standard servo has some adjustment however I'm tempted to think its something else given it only happens after everything has warmed up and been used for a while.

Having just spend half an hour bailing the car out and finding how bad the paint has got, its all coming apart again anyway

Check the pedal is free on the pivot shaft, but after that yes it's likely the master cyl.

We had this on the race car and it turned out to be the pedal box, all the brass bearings were gunked up. A quick clean and lube and all was well.

Cheers guys. I probably need to replicate it then remove the pin between the servo and the pedal box and see what it does.

Ben, the box was fully stripped, painted and greased up on reassembly. I changed the bushes for others as well last year but that made no change

Has to be the master cylinder Rob, as Tom says.
