After searching g around d I have confused myself a bit, what is a sensible afr to run while on boost, I know the a-series requires 11ish afr to be safe but can I run 12-13 and still be safe?

well, depends on how much boost really,

also i'd say 11 is a bit rich anyway, aim for 12.5 and you should be fine unles your running mega boost, and if you are swuirt some meth in.

13 too lean imo

Basically my map is 13.8 full throttle no boost then for every 4 psi i add1/2afr more fuel
I run around 12.5 afr for some fruity part throttle acceleration
14.7-15 idle and im just starting to trim back at 60-80 cruise 15.5 and it still feels happy
Ignition timing plays a big part and also i inject 4gph water / eth 50/50 that alters the readings
Doesnt really drop iats but does half the knock level

I always aimed about mid to high 11's leaner could cause a little det around peak torque, could be leaned off after that point but I never did just to be safe. up to a bar of boost im sure low 12's would be perfectly fine, you know how it is though, every engines different :) Non turbo I seem to recall aiming for high 12:1. numbers just a number tho (as you know) I was fortunate to have acces to a tail-pipe wideband as well as my built in wideband so could occationally confirm they matched up. while the one on my car always seemed to hold true, the one we put on the tailpipe fitting would need replaced every 10 tuning sessions or so, it would wander out of spec, I presume because the heater in it was having to work extra hard. long and short (and i know youll know this but handy to have it written down!) dont trust other peoples ideal tuning numbers!

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Cheers guys, main reason for asking is kmaps do a map for the vvc turbo setup, at 11psi it's 11.8, I will be running more boost so obviously will require more fuel to be added so a good "custom" map should do the trick.

Cobblers. No way of saying what any map will do on any different engine that has different condition fuel pump, injectors, turbo, exhaust system, blah blah blah.

It is just a generic safe map hence asking, I wanted to have it running sooner rather than later so will be using a rover mems3 before stand alone, a vehicle specific map will be done instead. Latr most likely use an emerald as their ecu can support the vvc setup but cost for tuning I cannot justify for now.

Anything getting near 11.2 and you'll see black smoke and you might struggle to get a spark under boost

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
