Hi . Have a budget turbo project, Its a 998 A, 998 A+ top, Hiff 44 turbo carb, VW golf Diesel turbo,
My question is i think the Hif44 is to big (from a 1275) , what needel profile should i begin fouling around with ..*smiley*.

Going to update my photo album soon ...

I believe he means that he intends on using the turbo unit from a VW Golf. From what I've read, that's not a good idea as the seals in diesels are incompatible... True, or myth?

yes, apparently diesel turbo's are made from different materials to petrol one's and therefore arent suitable for use on a petrol car.

who knows it may be a myth but im sure someone had proof the material was defo different

diesel turbos work fine on petrol engines, they may not last as long, (although cant comment on that with any accuracy) but they work absolutely fine, and are usually designed to boost a lot higer safely than petrol turbos!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

They'll be fine... Unless you're going for really high boost / EGT's

Re the carb, keep it simple. Stick with the HIF44.

Is it same needel typ in Hiff44 turbo and non turbo Hiff / HS carbs ?
BDD is the needel what?s in it now, to rich for my little 998 maybe??
