I believe he means that he intends on using the turbo unit from a VW Golf. From what I've read, that's not a good idea as the seals in diesels are incompatible... True, or myth? **************************************

yes, apparently diesel turbo's are made from different materials to petrol one's and therefore arent suitable for use on a petrol car.

diesel turbos work fine on petrol engines, they may not last as long, (although cant comment on that with any accuracy) but they work absolutely fine, and are usually designed to boost a lot higer safely than petrol turbos! And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

They'll be fine... Unless you're going for really high boost / EGT's
