What clutch should I be using for an A+ Verto Mini Turbo setup? It's a daily driver, probably will never see a drag strip, so don't want anything too heavy/snatchy.

Spec's are below - estimate 110-120bhp?

1330 turbo
9:1 compression
GT1752 @ 8-10psi
Intercooler
Benross head
2.76 FD & Minispares cross pin

1994 Mini Mayfair, 1330, Mspd Ph2 cam, Benross turbo head, 9:1, GT1752, TT Intercooler, MegaJolt, BMW M3 leather seats.

Cant fault an RTS 'double spring' setup.

Search RTS and all is well covered on here.

Just had a look. Not really confident in my abilities to do that in all honesty. Unless someone sells these as kits?

What off the shelf solution would be best?

The only real option off the shelf for a verto is a light blue 'turbo' cover and a race/rally plate.

Id be happy to build you an RTS tho if you can source the bits. You basically need two AP covers. (998 'green' ones would be best).

for 120 hp you should be ok with a blue turbo cover and a rally fiction plate.

IMO vertos are much smoother/ predictable etc

Will probably go for the blue turbo cover then, but thanks for the offer Slater - may well take you up on that if the blue doesn't seem to hold up.

Do you mean this kit?

Or, do you mean using the clutch cover from that:

But with something like this:

or..

Actually, I think I've found the one you mean:

So, this cover:

And this plate:

Shaunas has an AP race/rally friction plate and the 'turbo' pressure plate, doesn't slip at 10psi/117ftlbs and I doubt it would at 12-14psi although that's probably closer to it's limit at around 14-15 I'd have guessed.

With my verto setup I used the AP race/rally plate and the turbo cover, fine at 7psi, but slipped when I turned it up

What power/torque figures were you getting from 7psi?

I put 101.4 bhp and 90lbft through the turbo verto clutch. No bother at all. Non turbo though at that time.

Honestly RTS is fairly simple and if slaters offering it to you I would recommend taking him up on it. It'll be worry free pretty much.

101hp and 116lbs/ft (Printout half way down http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...id=498679&fr=50 )

We tried to turn the boost up at Slark's but it slipped, so kept it at 7psi until I upgraded.
