This one was last years project, still a few small bits to sort (mostly chrome work) but on the road and heading for its first show season this year.

Its a 1969 mk1 capri 1600 gt xlr auto, family owned from new and owned by me for the last 20 years waiting for its restoration, currently fully stock and original posing a dilema as I'd like to mod it with standard looks but having trouble bringing myself to chopping about on an original old car.

Looks lovely, a guy down the road has a mk1 but it's completely red rather than 2 tone. I like the mk1, not keen on the later ones though.

As for mods, if they are removable and period, I'd go for it. Its your car so enjoy it

They wouldn't be all that period to be honest as it would be a more modern engine and auto box. everything is removable though :)

Drop a newer zetec lump in? Make a new loom up to run it so oringal don't get chopped?

My old man had one of these he loved and that is a loverly car.
