Having major troubles with getting the diff together, fitted the output shaft with fibre washer, the fitted the first pin along with the planet gear and thrust washer and just with that much assembled the diff is locked solid, absolutely will not turn. Is it the fibre washer on the output shaft causing me greif? Wasn't easy fitting the first half pin either, as if it's butted tight up against the output shaft. Anybody know to any solutions?

Use a good used fibre washer. New ones actually come in two thickness.

Whats the thickness of them?

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

My original Minispares one was actually supplied (accidentally I presume) with the wrong washers.

The thick ones are a lot thicker, 6thou IIRC, and it definately won't turn with them in.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I had to put used ones in mine.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Same story here. It's good to have a set of used ones in hand.

Sorted now gents, like a complete and utter gibbon I failed to see the old fibre washers on the output shafts....once removed the new ones dropped in perfectly and all went well! Must've been late when I was trying to put it together the first time in poor light.
