Cam Sensor with Crank Sensor

Lads is it possible to MS off just a Cam Sensor rather with the Crank Sensor??

Not a Mini Engine btw just a Vaux 1.6 8v.

umm depends on the cam trigger wheel, IIRC you's need somthing like 4-1 as a minimum, doubt a single tooth would be enough

It is possible but not as good as a crank trigger due to the inaccuracy and jitter introduced by the cam driving mechanism.

But it is doable as long as you use an acceptable trigger wheel. And the minimum would be an 8-1 because you need at least one real tooth per ignition event. A 4-1 works for a crank signal since you only have 2 ignition events per crank rev.

The engine is actually my Mates, its the later model to the one im using. Its an MPI type has a cam sensor but no crank, the trigger wheel is there but I can only assume its juts a generic pulley like all the others. The Crank sensor has deffinately never been installed to this engine??

Easiest thing will be just to buy one.
