Any one know where I can get the pins and clips (spring things) for 4 pot metro vented callipers, everywhere I've looked they're discontinued.

I said I'd do it, there's no need to remind me every 6 months!!

...any objection to drive without the clips? Apart from some wiggle of the pads, I can't think why not.

Once I had deeper and deeper pedal. No leaks. Reason? The clips were for the 4 pot calipers, however they were too narrow, intended for the solid disc version, while I use vented discs. The clip slipped between the metal backside of the pads and acted as a spring to push back the pistons after braking. So the volume to displace became bigger and bigger before the pads touched the disc... *smiley*

I leave all the spring clips and shims out of the MX5 -makes pad changes much simpler and quicker. They are only there to stop squealing and I and the tyres do enough of that anyway.
