Hi all,

I am due to be getting the mini back in the week and need to sort out some insurance. I've ploughed more money than would be sensible into the car so want to get an agreed valuation on the car.

Just putting out the feelers to see who you think are decent insurers to go with for specifically an agreed valuation.

Cheers chaps

In my experience all classic policies will give you agreed value.

The best broker i have dealt with (by miles) is Brentacre. Cheaper than others for exactly the same policy and very helpful. Like talking to a real person who actually knows about cars.

At the other end of the scale you have the likes of Adrian Flux which is like trying to get your mrs's hair dresser to arrange your insurance for you.

I find HIC to be good when I used them.
I need to ring them up this week and get a quote.

Thanks all. Will give the above a bell.

Agreed on Adrian Flux which is the exact reason for asking the question in the first place.

Do you guys say every little thing done to it or can you say things like, the suspension is fully adjustable front and rear? Or do you need to state each little thing?
Otherwise I'm going to be on the phone for ages!!!

You need to think of some terms that give a blanket cover of what you have done..

I like to use the word 'conversion' If they ever quibble you can just say its part of the conversion...

'Disc brake conversion'
'Sports suspension kit'
'turbo conversion xxxbhp'

IF you ever have to make a claim you can then just point to the vague item they are quibbling about and say 'well its part of the kit' or whatever.

Yea that's what I thought slater. Not trying to hidexplain anything but don't want to get caught out if I forget something if that makes sense.
I had to send HIC photos last time for the agreed valuation so they can see exactly what it is.

Ended up going with Brentacre so thanks for that Slater.
They were dead helpful (and had the best price).
I tried HIC but the guy on the other end didn't do much to convince me he had much of an understanding about the policy.
Only £250! Thanks all
