Hi I need some help wiring up my starter motor, its the old type starter with the solenoid on the inner wing panel first off were does the earth cable run from to the starter. Also how does the solenoid wire up.

its not an earth cable I suspect you mean, its the live cable. It goes from the solenoid to the starter motor. The starter motor earths to complete the circuit through the engine block and the engine earth.

The solenoid has one large cable direct from the battery positive, and one other as mentioned above to the starter.

Then the wire (red/white) from the ignition switch goes to a blade terminal on the side of the solenoid. Make sure the solenoid has got a good earth onto the inner wing or else it won't work.
