I've got one of these kits brand new but was wondering if anyone had any more info on them.

What sort of turbo is it (eg T2 or T3)?
Is it too big for a 998?
Will it be any good for a 998 this type of setup?
Can I use a hif38 carb with it or should I use hif44?
What sort of ignition is needed? Can I stick with my Aldon yellow dizzy?

Thanks

truthfully(If I were you) i'd sell the kit on to a collector, if you want something to actually run I would build a more modern blow thro, intercooled setup. bet the kit could be sold for more than the bits to build up an intercooled setup.

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

I would say too big for a 998, I had one of these setups in the workshop last year and and I believe the Turbo is T3 based with various brackets etc welded on to the compressor housing. Everything about it seemed to be a bit of a compromise. Great for a retro style setup, but for a nice drivable setup with decent power not much use.

Annoying I was hoping it was a smaller turbo... So guessing only good for a 1275.

Is anything from the kit usable for a blow through turbo setup? Eg manifold?

While nothing is impossible, this has to be the worst starting point. It's giving me a headache just thinking it through.

It's pointless trying to convert this to blow through. Sell it. You'll have plenty of cash to buy the parts for a good blow though setup.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Ok, what sort of value do you think this kit will have? It's all brand new and only needs oil return and downpipe from the looks of it. Thanks

Interesting, that eBay seller has sold three already, he must have picked up a number of NOS.

Previous final prices in order, £410, £406 then the most recent, only £310.

He seems to be exhausting the market for them...

I will look into blow through setups, would a t2 turbo be too small for a 1275 (just uncase I get everything then decide to get a 1275 engine instead of my 998)
