Should be ready to get my project started up soon. Can anyone suggest a needle to start with, and a Megajolt map? The current map is an NA one.

1330cc
Benross Turbo head
9:1 compression
Morspeed Phase 2 cam (modern 266)
Saab GT1752
2" downpipe/exhaust
Audi TT intercooler and cold feed air filter
~5psi to start with (will probably run 8-10 in the future, but not yet)
HIF44 Turbo Carb
SPI tank/pump & metro fuel pressure reg
NGK bpr7es plugs

I am running an AEM wideband gauge, and will get it rolling road tuned once the engine has been ran in. While running in, I'm thinking of loosening off the actuator, so the boost could only max at 1-2psi.

I'd certainly start with the stock BDD. You could try the standard Metty Turbo advance curve to get it running.
Iirc "Fab" posted it a long time ago.

Yeah, don't take it to high tech, Shauna tookbit in running, they flooded the shit out of it, managed to get puddles of fuel in the plenum chamber and all sorts, and it had to get it recovered home, with no offer of help. They didn't have a clue what they were doing clearly, because I managed to get it back up and running again when they couldn't. I'd reccomend Steve Walford Motorsport for megajolt mapping, and southam mini metro centre for fuelling, steve is okay with fuelling but smmc can fine tune it a bit better.

This is an amalgamation of the turbo map and a NA map. Still a pretty safe map, but a bit more progressive in the vacuum to boost advance.

Out of interest why are you running such little boost? Get it wound up and enjoy

Thanks guys! Need to run the engine in first as it's been rebuilt, so want to keep the boost really low while I do this.

Then we should be taking it to France on holiday all being well, so I was planning on keeping the boost low for that and cranking it up afterwards!

Southam don't really have any experience with it, and will openly say they won't mess it last time we went, which is fair enough. It's been a while since we've last been so they might have exoerimented themselves or something and start mapping it now. Ian, I honestly wouldn't bother 'running it in' knock the cam is as per normal, and just get it set up on the rollers. Shaunas does 4k miles a year plus, and done this way has never burnt a drop of oil, just did the frequent oil and filter changes at the start and that was it. If anything happens aka an unexpected boost surge, and it's not at all set up, there's far far more chance of it going bang than at least if it was setup to normal operating parameters, as when we tried a bleed valve that was faulty to go from 8psi to 10psi, it surged to 14psi, the fuelling even then was spot on and pulled hard but there was no intercooler and the boost would have kept climbing if we continued, whereas if it's a little lean, it could have gone very lean and ended up in tears.
