Scottish Borders.

As my turbo project has gone over budget considerably..
And the fear of my wife castrating me if I spend any more...
Is it stupid to have come this far not to fit an AFR?
Did the metro turbo run an AFR?

Scott.

Of course you can run without one no bother at all.

But, and it is a big but.... When something goes a miss and it goes lean for any reason and you haven't got an AFR gauge you realistically won't know about it until it's to late.

Mine stopped working for some unknown reason for a couple hours last year... it made me realise if i could only have 1 dial in the mini itd be that one!

An AFR gauge wont save you from anything. If your car is set up correctly then it's not needed.

But if you get an AFR and do your own setup on the road, it'll save you a load on a RR session.

Swansea boyo!

My AFR gauge hasn't worked since last December and I've had no issues but mine has been set up properly and I'm not particularly running anything crazy. Personally I wouldn't have gone without one at the beginning while everything is being set up until I knew everything was running as it should!

I think for setting the engine up and running it in I should definitely get the AFR.
Iv spent a fair amount on building the engine so it seems silly to run the risk of unnecessary wear or engine failure!

Thanks again for the advice guys.
