As the title says, the engine in currently not running, just fitted it. i can select 1st, 2nd and 4th, but can't select 3rd or reverse. Ive taken the selector off and tried at the gearbox with no luck. I've put the box in 4th and rolled to the car to try and align the synchros with no luck. Looking for some help before i have to pull the engine out and strip it.

Plate on bottom of selector wrong way round?

I'd try with the engine running before you pull it? If the dogs are out of line they just won't go in when stationary.
