so finally have that sensor soldered in. since i didn't save up for a pump and timing chain (when i do the ex wife or tax man or.... seems to smell it and phoef its gone) yet i would like to have a play with the mj

can i connect it to the computer somehow and do something with it? ( cant find the topic where it shows how to yet i know there was one because i seen it once)

assuming you have the usb > serial cable and the MJ has power you can mess with timing, advance, limiters etc.

basically load up the MJ software and turn on the MJ. the hardest part is making sure you have selected the right com port. to know which com port you have to hunt down locate your device manager (google this depending on your windows), find the USB's and you will see them as below or something similar.



hopefully you won't have many being a laptop. then in the MJ settings it will have an option to pull the map/connect to MJ when turned up. Also somewhere you will have an option to change the com port. just go hunting. the way i did it was i would plug it in and put it to com port 3, turn on MJ. If i got nothing i would turn it off and then change the settings to com port 4 and then turn on the MJ again and hope it got something.

If you do try all the ports and still no luck repeat on the other USB's as i had one once where the USB would just not work.
