Ok guys help needed

Story so far

A 1990 turbo engine with 66k on the clock when I got it.
After fitting into mini it had a nasty smoking habit,

So the head came off and I had it completely overhauled new valve guides, new valves, new seats,new oil seals ect.
Still smoking
Compression test on the cylinders came at 150psi on every cylinder so the rings are ok ( I hope )

Turbo unit came off and went to turbo technics for a complete overhaul everything was replaced inc oil seals

And yes its still smoking

So where do I go from here ?

A mechanic mate said it might be the oil breathers cloged up? can these be cleaned/replaced ?

could I have spent ?550 on all that work for nothing?

please help

Compression test is not the real test for rings. u need to get to a garage and have a leakdown test done... It's the only way to know....

ok thanks guys

I will get a leakdown test done to find out if it is the rings.

Is this somthing any garage can do or is it more specialised and how much roughly ??

you can do it yourself if you have the kit and an air compressor...

they shoudn't charge you too much, but make sure you find a friendly garage as you want their opion not just the results (data) of the test.
