Hay yins all. Time for introduction. I got me a spridget abouts a year ago. The car was mothballed for many years and has taken time to get all systems going. Now that I have a good looking solid runner, it's turbo time. Now this isn't my fist FI rodeo. Last toy was a 250whp miata. Also I added a blower to a Elise, fun fun.
Now I have a purpose for this here spridget. It will be a scca solo car and weekend toy. After studying yins forum I have a good grasp of what is needed for fueling and timing controls. I have also managed to mock up a exhaust manifold, and motor gettin yanked as soon as weather turns to crap for a refresh.
I happened to have a metro t3 turbos and a datsun pulsar nx 1.5 t2 turbos laying about. I wants a system that hits hard around 2k rpm and pulls with a flat torque curve to around 6500rpm. This t3 seems too big(a/r.25 weird) and datsun t2 is similar to one of them there R5 turbo, but with an a/r of .48. I sees lots of yins run gt17 from Saabs, and a few of y'all run gt15. Now I am not a power junkie, just looking for abouts 110whp which should get me around the autox course plenty quick. My biggest prioity for the turbocharger is rapid response, particularly at lower end of rpm range. Anybodys have any suggestions for my modest power goals. More questions to come as things proceed forward.

Welcome to TM.

I'd thoroughly recommend, if you haven't done so already, read through Tadge44 and steve1275 posts. Dave's A35 is running the gt17. I cant recall of the top of my head what steve is sunning in the midget.

Welcome to TM, I run a GT17 with a big intercooler, 18psi boost about 200 flywheel hp, but then I use 60hp of NOS to overcome the enormous lag. For the hp you're after I would go without intercooler as the pipework is long.

Like Steve, I run a GT17 but a small I/C as I have space problems.Metro turbo pistons, a decent head by Turbophil on here, an MG Metro N/A cam and a freeflow exhaust. Gives me around 140 flywheel hp and boost from under 2000 rpm.(T3 was dead until 4000rpm with a similar setup.)

Forgive if you have already tacked this, but any restrictor ring on the inlet of the carb or pitot tube assembly present to keep the float bowl air feed right?

turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)

Ok some details

Metro turbo inlet and exhaust manifold.
2.25" Down pipe
Gt17 turbo
Mazdaspeed Miata intercooler
Pilot tube before intercooler
Draft tube pre turbo, connected to breather
Bosch fuel pump
Metro turbo fuel reg
1.5" carb, because my power goals are modest and low rpm throttle response is nice. Lastly carb was like new and only 20 bucks.
Ignition is stock and retarded(for now) megajolt or similar soon
Forge bov clone
KN filter
Engine is stock, except for head porting and 1.5 rockers(stock cam)

Pretty basic setup for now. It is completed, just waiting for good weather to fire the thing up and start tuning.
In the mean time i have some non turbo related work to do to the car. As with most of my project cars this thing will probably be constantly upgraded overtime.

I will post some more pictures soon.

This forum has been been a helpful resource for this project. Thanks everyone

The left side is the right side. And vice-versa.

Must be missing something. You have no plenum,so how are you providing the correct boost pressure to the fuel reg?
