Hi guys

long time no see (work takes up so much time)

Crazy idea but unsure of the logistics? Using a short stroke crank on a 1380 (74.5mm? bore). I don't have my block yet so can't be dropping shorter stroke cranks into a block. I know that rods will have to be made but this is the whole challenge. Will be using a hybrid t2 on a custom equal length manifold. Any ideas? All thoughts appreciated.

Cheers

All sounds good, my only comment would be that I would personally go the other way, towards a long stroke crank. If you could get the bottom end to hold together, you'd get some SERIOUS torque!

Forgotten more than most ever know

With stroked engine, say 84 mm you will face CR problems. Same with 73,5 mm bore. But it is an interesting idea !

Cheers guys,
was just testing the water really, i want my college project to be the dogs dangly bits!! Started looking at the 7 port heads today, then the whole injection scheme of things started in my head!!!! Couldn't sleep last nite for thinking of the possibilities!!!

The main thought behind my idea originally was to have the revs of a short stroke engine and the advantage of a turbo.

I could be tempted, just want to get the main part of my project sorted first which is to construct the manifold to suit the mini and hang the turbo etc. But then again the idea of a 16v crossflow head is awfully tempting!!!
